Behind the Musical - Josh's Lament

The Utility Players, spent the later months of 2009 creating, writing, and rehearsing their own musical. UTILITY PLAYERS - THE MUSICAL [we are still working out a final name] tells the somewhat mythological story of the formation of the Utility Players. One clandestine night, six strangers meet at an open mic and decide to form a comedy troupe based in improv. Meanwhile, a crude and untalented stand-up comic - with the help of an evil witch - attempts to steal the laughter from the world and the Utility Players. This song, called Josh's Lament, is from one our rehearsal and occurs shortly after our intrepid villain steals Josh's laughter.

Behind the Scenes with the Utility Players: Sound Effects

Check out this new clip from practice the other night. Josh and Ian are playing an improv game called Sound Effects where Ian is providing the sound effects for a scene that Josh is trying to develop. The suggestion from the audience was that Josh is Wile E. Coyote out on a date with the Roadrunner. Make sure to check out this week's episode of the Comedy Cabaret - Thursday @ 8pm - with this week's theme of Saturday Morning Cartoons
